Get trained in Diesel Technology or Heavy Equipment Maintenance at Lincoln Tech’s South Plainfield campus. Formerly Engine City Technical Institute, Lincoln Tech is a leading regional Diesel mechanic school and offers hands-on training programs to prepare you for a career working with diesel engines, marine equipment, power generators, hydraulic systems and more.
Lincoln’s classes give you the foundation needed to begin your career as you gain the skills employers are looking for. Upon graduating from Lincoln Tech, students are prepared to repair and service diesel trucks, construction equipment, bulldozers, cranes, and other diesel powered machines.
Lincoln Tech’s South Plainfield campus offers:
- 48,000 square feet of shop and classroom space filled with diesel training transmissions, heavy equipment, engine components and more.
- Small class sizes so students can benefit from dedicated time for hands-on training with help from professional instructors.
- Ten classrooms with electrical accessory training board simulators as well as hydraulic and mechanical trainers.
- An Early Student Engagement program that helps students focus on skills necessary to be successful in the diesel industry.

HALL OF FAME SPOTLIGHT: After graduating in 2001, Matthew Riello, worked with Ryder and Foley INC as a technician and then a project engineer. Riello has returned to Lincoln Tech as an instructor. He currently oversees the Service Department at Stewart & Stevenson-Atlantic Detroit Diesel Division and also is a Training Instructor.
